The Gods of Olympus

The ancient Greeks used to worship the gods and goddesses for centuries and the Olympians, who are a group of 12 gods, were the most important.

Zeus: After defeating his father Cronus, Zeus became the ultimate ruler or the king of the gods who ruled over the world. Though married to Hera, he is known for many affairs. Zeus is the lord of the sky and rain.

Poseidon: Poseidon is the brother of Zeus, married to Amphitrite, is the god of sea, rivers and springs and is mostly worshiped by sea men. After Zeus, he is the most powerful god.

Hades: Hades is the brother of Zeus and was made the lord of the underworld, ruling over the dead. He is also the god of wealth, due to the valuable metals that are mined from the earth.

Hestia: The elder sister of Zeus is Hestia and she is a virgin goddess and also he Goddess of the Hearth, who protects the divinity of the home and family life.

Hera: The wife of Zeus, Hera is the Queen of Olympus, who protects of marriage and takes special care of married women. Cow and peacock are the sacred animals of Hera.

Ares: The son of Zeus and Hera is Ares who is the god of war but also regarded as murderous and bloodstained.

Athena: Athena is the goddess of wisdom, war and peace. She is also the goddess of the city, handicrafts, and agriculture and the capital of Greece has her name.

Apollo: The sun god and also the go of music, Apollo is the son of Zeus.

Aphrodite: She is the goddess of desire, love and beauty and her symbols are the dove, tree, swan and rose.

Hermes: He is the fastest of the gods and the god of commerce, gymnastics, and alphabet.

Artemis: The goddess of forest is the twin sister of Apollo and the lady of the wild things and huntsman of the gods.

Hephaestus: He is the god of fire and the forge who uses a volcano as his forge.

Tourists benefits Insurance Policy

Greece has moved on and is ensuring to provide effectively free insurance policies to the tourists visiting the country in order to repair the damage caused to the tourism sector, which generates one-fifth of the Greek’s GDP but has collapsed 10% since the onset of the financial crisis.

Greece is a country in southeastern Europe. Climate

Summers witness extremes of 37°C (99°F), making the yearly mean temperature about 17°C (63°F). Rainfall figures vary, depending on the region. In the mountainous regions, however, rainfall is heavier, snow is likely and temperatures are severe. Light weight clothing is advisable during summers and you can carry few warm clothes if you plan to visit the mountains.
