Greece is a country in southeastern Europe. Climate

Greece is perfect for those who enjoy the sun. It has a Mediterranean climate, with dry summers and wet winters. Summers witness extremes of 37°C (99°F), making the yearly mean temperature about 17°C (63°F). Rainfall figures vary, depending on the region. In the mountainous regions, however, rainfall is heavier, snow is likely and temperatures are severe. Light weight clothing is advisable during summers and you can carry few warm clothes if you plan to visit the mountains.

Visitors who enjoy walking and mountain climbing will find many opportunities on the mainland where they will find thick forests, home to the endangered brown bear, as well as wild cats, goats and roe deer.
